MAKING AN IMPACT ON OUR CAMPUS & IN OUR COMMUNITY

Phi Sigma Sigma at Rutgers supports the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, whose current focus is School and College Readiness, as well as Rutgers University Dance Marathon, which raises funds for the Embrace Kids Foundation. Our passion for supporting schools has inspired us to form a very close relationship with Roosevelt Elementary School in New Brunswick. We support the local school’s needs however we can. In the winter, our chapter organized a holiday toy drive and donated over 250 toys and several grocery gift cards to the school for its families. We are also funding Roosevelt’s fifth grade graduation celebration this June. During Rutgers University Dance Marathon this spring, our chapter placed top fundraiser among the entire university, raising over $28,000 for the Embrace Kids Foundation.

PARTICIPATION IN CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY PHILANTHROPY AND SERVICE

Our Phi Sig sisters are also extremely passionate about helping other Rutgers organizations achieve their philanthropic goals. For instance, this past semester several of our sisters painted jean pocket squares for Alpha Chi Omega’s Denim Day Fundraiser for Sexual Assault Victims. For virtually any cause that one of our sisters is passionate about, we have found a way to support it through both our strong sisterhood and involvement in Rutgers Greek Life and general campus involvement.
